Created in 1996 as a subsidiary branch of the Hugar Group, ARGOS is involved in urban design with urban and harbourside planning. Establishing itself in a Mediterranean context, the breadth of Argos extends itself today over five continents.

We aim to boost your ambitions through a concern in promoting the integration of both the human and natural environment.

A COMPLETE PARTNERSHIP

A place is not only a space; it has an identity, a territory, a population ... That’s why Argos was born out of a desire to facilitate an understanding and integration of an urban fabric within its context. Along with its expertise, Argos provides all the skills and tools required by the project owner to create true living places with investment opportunities such as census and site analysis, local and regional urban development plans, legal, financial and technical studies.

Numerous parameters have to be taken into account for the development of harbourside projects, with a subsequent need for knowledge and expertise.

Argos was founded through the perseverance of a number of people and companies made up of experts in their respective fields. Areas of specialisation of the company include the listing and analyse of sites, drawing up strategies to develop harbourside activities and tourism on a national scale, port and marina design, management and organisation, training specialised personnel and legal studies.

SPECIAL SKILLS, A TEAM SPIRIT

Argos is first and foremost a multi-skilled team of men and women dedicated to their profession. They all share a global vision of how research and project development can be achieved. Town planners, architects, engineers, environmental specialists, legal experts, financiers and managers are all part of our team.

Subsequent achievements include prestigious projects such as: Port Camargue (the first marina built in Europe), Port Grimaud, Port Liberty in New York and Port Marianne in Montpellier, development zone of La Malamousque in Aigues-Mortes, development zone of the Vieux Chemin de Nîmes in Uzès, and a reconstruction project of the marina of Alimos in Athens.

Along with a large number of other studies being carried out in France and abroad, all our projects are driven by a desire to create outcomes that are best adapted to meet the challenges of our time.

A MAJOR CONCERN: THE ENVIRONMENT

Because preserving and enhancing nature is a universal concern, environmental studies are the first step in any project undertaken by Argos.

Our environmental and marine ecologists make in-depth studies into each project's impact on the natural environment in order to ensure that subsequent developments will contribute to natural habitat rather than deplete it.

As a means to emphasise this ambition the Argos emblem is a Dolphin.

ARGOS PROJECTS, FROM DESIGN TO OPERATION

Argos carries out preliminary planning studies and prepares urban feasibility studies :

  • Site analysis, diagnosis and urban feasibility studies
  • Impact studies, environmental audits
  • Urban planning, outlines for sustainable development strategies
  • Programing, management and implementation of development zones.
  • Negotiation and land purchasing
  • Establishment of a financial assessment for area planning
  • Community and stakeholder consultation

Alone or in partnership, Argos undertakes harbourside planning research that includes:

  • preliminary environmental and feasibility studies (on a national scale or for a specific site),
  • design of river and maritime ports, also 'Dry Ports’ and the conversion of abandoned port facilities,
  • urban and architectural design of marinas and harbour real estate operations
  • required legal and financial studies

Construction

Argos operates as a primary contractor for harbour development and is legated by the harbour facility and its authorities for zoning development, (the harbour master's office, technical and reception areas). Through these projects Argos aims to enhance urban spaces through proposing new ways of living along the water.

In relation to urban planning we prepare and provide legal applications, the authorization of requests, the management of files, building site management and coordination.

Our interventions can also be limited to areas of technical engineering or any other form of associated service.

Management

Argos assumes responsibility for the financial control of its projects. In collaboration with local communities it establishes a public infrastructure programme to follow.

Supported through its partnerships with a number of local and international financial institutions and property developers, Argos has complete control over the financial aspects of its operations.

Concerning the management of ports, Argos defines business development plans, establishes an estimated budget and manages the use of equipment. Furthermore Argos also provides the training of management personnel.

Operation

Argos is concerned with the on-going success of its completed projects and for the area of harbourside development in general. Subsequently we plan and organise events designed to animate portside facilities such regattas, seminars, inter-port cultural and economic activities and media events.

International

Exporting its expertise internationally, Argos has won numerous competitions such as the competition for the marina d’Alimos in Greece. Argos has also participated in the urban planning project for KRK Island in Croatia and the planning of four towns situated on the lake area of Dobrjn. Eco-tourism projects have been developed by Argos in stimulating sustainable development in Las Terrasnas and Perdernales in the Dominican Republic.

Argos offers its expertise in the areas of property development, tourism, and international marinas :
